Korean-Style Chicken Wings at Nite Owl by Admiral District

Midwest Restaurant Photographers - Nite Owl Chicken Wings

More from our Blackstone neighbors at Nite Owl: the crowd favorite Korean-Style Chicken Wings. They’re beautiful double-fried chicken wings with a sweet Korean barbecue sauce that holds an underlying heat. Very tasty.

It's always great when a place opens up in your neighborhood and serves a burger like this one. Beef patty with onion ring, cheese, butter lettuce, house pickles, and owl sauce. You can find all of it on a bun at Nite Owl in the Blackstone District of Omaha, Nebraska.

soup made for comfort by Admiral District

Omaha Food Photographers - comfort soup

It's wintertime, and here in Omaha it has been very cold lately. So I've been thinking about the shoot that I did with Inspired Living Omaha magazine in December. I was contacted by the magazine to photograph three soups made by two sisters, Mary Von Gillern and Julie Barnes. The sisters shared with us their recipes and stories about food and family. The chicken and dumplings recipe (pictured above) is one they helped make with their mom when they were children. Von Gillern and Barnes told us how they would come home from school and the dough would be rolled out on a table and they would help make the soup. It's a recipe that goes to the heart about one of the reasons I love food: family. Food is such a good reason to gather, to cook together, to eat together. Von Gillern and Barnes are great examples of food bringing family together.
